- Steam: Battleplan, app 3743140 — product identity, release date, mechanics and current Steam requirements. Reused the official capture from October 13, 2026.
- Slitherine: Battleplan product page — one-player specification, army structure, terrain, logistics and scenario context. Read October 13, 2026.
- Slitherine: “Is Battleplan for you?” — published October 2, 2026; read October 13. Launch campaign scope, two tutorials, Zone Orders and differences from the demo.
The official Steam product video titled “Gameplay Trailer - Battleplan Out Now” was also inspected on October 13, 2026 for the limited UI observations below. Official descriptions establish feature scope. They do not establish performance benchmarks, optimal army compositions or successful mission strategies.
Version and discrepancies
The scope is the released October 2026 PC game, not the Steam Next Fest demo. No exact executable build number was independently checked. “11 campaign missions” comes from the dated launch briefing; “10+ battles” is the general product description.
Steam specifies 64-bit Windows 10/11; Slitherine still includes older Windows versions. We use the Steam requirement for Steam purchasing advice and flag the difference. Both pages contain the unusual recommended GPU string “GeForce GTX 1040 3 GB”; we preserve it as a source caveat rather than correcting it by guesswork. Slitherine’s news listing also displays an October 9 date for an “out now” item while the exact Steam product lists October 12. The release date on this site follows Steam.
How to read our guides
Confirmed mechanics are attributed to the official pages. Editorial suggestions turn those mechanics into planning questions and checklists. They are not tested walkthroughs or an assertion that a particular opening wins a mission.
We have not verified numerical supply formulas, recovery times, officer-stat priorities, unit ratios, exact keyboard shortcuts or hardware performance. Those topics remain outside the current guides. Check the in-game tutorial and mission briefing for controls and scenario-specific objectives.
The planning diagrams are original schematics, not accurate mission maps. The separately attributed unit-panel crop is from the official Steam promotional video; it is not an image from our own gameplay. Battleplan and its logos belong to their respective owners. Battleplan Fieldguide is independent and is not affiliated with Foolish Mortals Games Inc. or Slitherine.
Use the material
Go to the guides for planning help or PC readiness for purchase checks. If a live source changes, use it to verify the current facts rather than assuming this dated summary has updated automatically.
Launch-trailer UI evidence
Source: the exact Steam product’s video titled Gameplay Trailer - Battleplan Out Now, checked October 13, 2026. At 0:40, the selected unit panel visibly labels Supplies and the drawing prompt instructs holding left-click to draw a line or enclosed area. These observations help locate information and a gesture; they do not establish a supply formula, an optimal threshold or order-priority rules.
The 0:40 recording shows a v1.0 label; other footage in the same trailer is older. The Army Constructor scene at 1:15 visibly carries v0.9.2 and a May 13, 2026 recording label. We do not treat that older scene’s controls as a verified current-release tutorial. The exact installed executable build remains unchecked. Use the current in-game tutorial when an interface differs.
Only one limited unit-panel crop is reproduced for commentary, with its timestamp and attribution. The full video is not hosted here. We have not played the featured missions. Open the Steam product and choose the named video.
